Abstract

The rapid evolution of mobile technologies, especially smart mobile devices (SMD) and their applications (app), has transformed the way people interact with information, communicate and manage their personal knowledge. This article conducts a narrative review of the literature on the models of use of these technologies, with the aim of understanding how they can contribute to personal knowledge management (PKM) and infocommunication. 16 articles were analyzed, grouped into thematic categories such as modeling of behavior and use of app, quality of experience and usability, intention to use and acceptance of mobile technology, unification of mobile search, and models of use of technology. The results highlight that SMD and app usage models contribute to improving the user experience, offering personalized, predictive and efficient solutions. In addition, these models contribute to Personal Knowledge Management, facilitating the organization and access to knowledge, and to infocommunication, improving the efficiency and relevance of digital communication. However, limitations were identified in the reviewed studies, such as issues of usability, data quality, and generalizability of the models. The paper concludes that while existing models offer significant advances, future research should focus on overcoming these limitations to ensure a more efficient and satisfying experience for users.
