Abstract

The research investigates the implications of the process of informational concentration in agribusiness and how its effects -both positive and negative - impact the dynamics of this market and the relationships among its agents. Through a qualitative and exploratory literature review, it was found that digitalization and the use of disruptive technologies, while offering new opportunities for efficiency and innovation, also reinforce informational asymmetries. In other words, the concentration of data in the hands of large corporations can limit the competitiveness of small producers and influence the formulation of public policies in favor of dominant interests. It is also emphasized that informational concentration not only affects the balance of power within production chains but also compromises the diversity of information available to the various actors in the sector.
