Contemporary demands for curation, representation, presentation, and access to information in information environments highlight the need for strategies that integrate digital-virtual resources. This need is particularly relevant in the context of museum institutions, which seek to combine the preservation and sharing of their collections through online environments. In this context, two free software programs developed by Artefactual Systems stand out: Access to Memory (AtoM), specialized in information presentation, and Archivematica, dedicated to digital preservation. Within the scope of this research, the concepts of Information Design and Digital Curation are mobilized as theoretical and operational contributions. Information Design encompasses principles for the visual and functional structuring of information, aiming to ensure clarity, organization, and legibility in the presentation of content. Furthermore, Digital Curation refers to the set of procedures that ensure the preservation and management of information objects over time, from their production to their availability to information subjects. Thus, the articulation between Information Design and Digital Curation offers support for the analysis of interoperability between the AtoM and Archivematica systems, especially regarding the convergence between information preservation and access. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the interoperability between the AtoM and Archivematica systems in light of the principles of Information Design and Digital Curation, considering how this convergence can contribute to information practices in museum institutions. This research adopts a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory approach, aimed at analyzing the interoperability between the AtoM and Archivematica systems, focusing on how these systems collaborate for digital preservation and access to information.
