Abstract

Information and Knowledge Management are essential for the efficiency of archives and libraries. At Brazil’s Federal Senate, both practices have been applied for 200 years, reflecting institutional and technological change. This study examines their evolution in the Senate’s Archive and Library, identifying challenges like digital transformation, access to information, and memory preservation. It proposes strategies to modernize traditional methods, promote innovation, and strengthen public information management.
