This presentation details strategies used by Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) to foster a unified community through shared actions and intergenerational exchange. Two primary initiatives are highlighted: HAMK goes Rantareitti: A wellness and sports event held in September 2025, where over 100 participants—including students, staff, alumni, and their families—completed a 6.5km lakeside trail. The event successfully strengthened feelings of institutional belonging and peer learning. Alumni Mentoring Programme: Conducted during Spring 2026, this program paired 21 students with 20 alumni to provide inspiration and support for career planning. Participants valued the professional relationships and the opportunity to gain perspectives different from those found in a traditional classroom setting. Despite challenges such as scheduling pressures and initial orientation, the program was highly rated, with participants describing it as "rewarding" and "inspiring".
