Greenwashing vs. Greenhushing: o desafio da Comunicação Sustentável

Resumo

Este estudo analisa de forma comparativa dois fenómenos críticos na comunicação de sustentabilidade contemporânea: o greenwashing e o greenhushing. A análise fundamenta-se em três critérios centrais: o rigor informativo, a transparência e o valor educativo. Num cenário marcado pela pressão de diversos stakeholders e pela urgência climática, as organizações enfrentam o dilema de exagerar o seu desempenho ambiental ou, inversamente, silenciar os seus esforços reais. O estudo demonstra que ambas as práticas constituem falhas graves de gestão e reputação. Se o greenwashing gera cinismo e desconfiança por meio da desinformação, o greenhushing cria um “silêncio” que impede o consumidor de tomar as suas decisões de forma informada. Tanto um como o outro podem contribuir para atrasar a transição ecológica. Assim, sustentabilidade do negócio depende de uma comunicação transparente e tecnicamente fundamentada, que rejeite tanto a mentira como o silêncio.
