This article presents and analyzes the results of a research made on the subject of the legal abolition of slavery and the legal status of the freedmen, in the Boletim do Governo-Geral da Provincia de Angola, later denominated Boletim Official do Governo-geral da Provincia de Angola, between 1845 and 1875, trying to determine whether and what to extent the abolitionist measures and the further legislation were actually applied in the Portuguese overseas provinces, more specifically in Angola, during the 19thcentury. This article completes the first part, published on the second issue of “E-Revista de Estudos Interculturais do CEI”, in which I exposed and analyzed the results on the subject of the legal status of slaves and their liberation by manumission or by legal proceedings, in the same journal and time span.
