How to build international alumni relations - best practices

Abstract

This presentation outlines the strategic steps taken by the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) to build and strengthen international alumni relations. It describes CTU’s institutional profile and its diverse global alumni community, then details a multi‑year process (2021–2024) that includes mapping target groups, auditing existing activities, establishing dialogue with university leadership, securing funding, learning from best practices, creating communication strategies, developing CRM‑based engagement tools, and setting up a dedicated alumni relations team. The presentation highlights the importance of cross‑departmental cooperation, international networking, digital platforms, and structured project management to build a comprehensive and sustainable international alumni program.
